As philosophy so often will do. Empedocles leapt to his death into a crater so that he might be deemed a god. Isocrates is said to have starved himself to death. Chrysippus died of laughter after giving wine to his donkey and seeing it attempt to eat figs. Philosophy gets to the mind.

I will hope your fate as a philosopher is less maddening, but no less interesting.

I don't intend to give wine to a donkey, so hopefully that will help keep me from too terrible a fate.

But I have a feeling I'll still end up a little mad. We have to be, to follow who we do.
